Previše parametara u Java metodama, 3. dio: Uzorak graditelja

U svoja dva prethodna posta, pogledao sam smanjenje broja parametara potrebnih za pozivanje konstruktora ili metode putem prilagođenih vrsta i objekata parametara. U ovom postu gledam na upotrebu uzoraka graditelja za smanjenje broja parametara potrebnih za konstruktor, uz raspravu o tome kako ovaj uzorak može pomoći i ne-konstruktorskim metodama koje uzimaju previše parametara.

U drugom izdanju Učinkovite Jave, Josh Bloch predstavlja stavku graditelja u stavci # 2 za bavljenje konstruktorima koji zahtijevaju previše parametara. Bloch ne samo da pokazuje kako se koristi Builder, već objašnjava njegove prednosti u odnosu na konstruktore koji prihvaćaju velik broj parametara. Doći ću do tih prednosti na kraju ovog posta, ali mislim da je važno naglasiti da je Bloch ovoj praksi posvetio čitav članak u svojoj knjizi.

Da bih ilustrirao prednosti ovog pristupa, poslužit ću se sljedećim primjerom Personklase. Nema sve metode koje bih obično dodao takvoj klasi jer se želim usredotočiti na njezinu konstrukciju.

Konstruktor ove klase radi, ali klijentski je kôd teško pravilno koristiti. Uzorak Graditelja može se koristiti za olakšavanje konstruktora. NetBeans će mi to rekonstruirati kao što sam već napisao. Volim da moj Builder bude ugniježđena klasa unutar klase čiji objekt gradi, ali automatsko generiranje samostalnog Graditelja NetBeans vrlo je jednostavno za upotrebu. Još jedna razlika između Builder-a generiranog NetBeans-om i Builderima koje volim pisati je da su moje preferirane implementacije Builder-a zahtijevale polja navedena u Builder-ovom konstruktoru, a ne kao konstruktor bez argumenata. Posljednjih nekoliko popisa kodova pokazuje kako se Builder obično koristi za konstrukciju objekta. Doista, stavka o graditelju (Stavka # 2) u drugom izdanju Effective Java Joshua Blocha nalazi se u poglavlju o stvaranju (i uništavanju) objekta. Međutim, graditelj može neizravno pomoći metodama koje nisu konstruktori dopuštajući lakši način izgradnje objekata parametara koji se prosljeđuju metodama.
